Times^2?
Times Square okay... but this is only the first time that a Pakistani-American has tried to bomb something in our beloved country. Faisal Shahzad, say that 10 times fast, was arrested as he tried to flee the country Monday. He was charged Tuesday in his role in the attempted car bombing attack on Times Square. If confirmed, this would be the group's first effort to attack the U.S., or beyond Pakistan and Afghanistan.
But I'm not just thinking about this story: I'm thinking about many stories that have developed recently about attacks on the U.S.. I often question whether or not they should be so publicized. Don't terrorists prey off of fear: isn't telling everyone about death threats making them fearful? So wouldn't us publicizing fear give them exactly what they wanted?
I guess this is an open-end blog: I don't know where I stand on this issue. Because I also think that the point of news is to inform the citizens of things that are happening that they may not otherwise be aware of, so in this way, the media is doing as it should.
